Guess who visited us at school today? Bohomme Carnaval!

We watched a video of a chilly canoe race during Carnaval on the Fleuve St. Laurent, the Saint Lawrence River. Then, in the gym, we had teams do an imaginary canoe race! They also sang and made Bonhomme decorations with Mme Kilmartin, and made ice sculptures with sugar cubes with Mme Dufour. Then we all met in the gym to sing and greet Bonhomme Carnaval!

This afternoon, children will share their own Bonhomme stories in small groups, and bring home this year’s effigie, the small plastic decoration that visitors to the Quebec Carnaval carry to Carnaval activities.
