Welcome to the last week of school before summer break!
Join me from the classroom at 9:15 Monday morning for our final zoom of the year. Bring your Cahier de réflexion and be ready to share what you enjoyed in grade two, and what you are looking forward to in grade three.
Le langage
Listen to this French song to get you in the mood for summer!
In your Cahier de vocabulaire, write each summer word once on p.36. Then write some sentences with these words. Think about what you would like to do this summer!
This is your final week to read and enjoy your Avatar with Raz-Kids. Enjoy! This summer, remember you can pick up books or get electronic books for our Kamloops public libraries!
Share your animal book with your family.
Listen to Mme Dufour read a story by one of our favourite authors, Robert Munsch.
Les maths
Play a summer-themed math game like canoe puppies and sailboat subtraction.
Do any page you wish in your Cahier rouge and your Cahier de calcul.
La musique
Music Lesson with Mr. Hogeveen.
Hello friends. This week I read you a story “So-me finds Dough”. Then I introduce you to a favourite song “I’ve Got Canada in my Pocket”.
I had some technology challenges and the lyrics didn’t show up on the video at 7:14. The next video shows up again at 12:10. Here is a link that includes the lyrics.
Here is the link to the fun video version of “I’ve Got Canada…”
If you want to play the Melody Matching game we did last week, go to this site.
Once there, open “Match the Melody”, click “next” and then choose level 3. Once that is open you can choose 3a, 3b, or 3c. Feel free to browse the Music Play site for all the activities available.
Classics For Kids also has fun music activities you can explore. Find them here.
Have an awesome summer. I will look forward to seeing you again in September!

Extras
Add another page to your animal book. Add a page about the author. For example:
J’ai ____ ans.
J’habite à ______.
J’ai __________ dans ma famille.
J’aime _________.
Do pages that you haven’t done yet in your workbooks.
Design a lemonade stand. Make a diagram that shows what it would look like. How much would one lemonade drink cost? How much money would you hope to earn? How many drinks would you have to sell to meet your goal? Draw examples of what coins customers might use to pay for their drinks. You can make a stand for your family in your backyard or your stuffies in your house! Have fun:)
Final words
I am proud of you all for learning so much in grade two. You are incredible readers, writers, artists, scientists, mathematicians and kind friends. I know you will enjoy all the new adventures that grade 3 will bring! Bravo, mes amis!
Parents
Thank-you for being such wonderful parents all year, before and after the surprising Spring that we have had! I am very lucky to have had such a good group of families make up our classroom. Report cards will be available at the school office Thursday afternoon, Friday and next week. Enjoy wrapping up the school year this week at home, and have a fabulous summer!
