Concours
A huge congratulations to all the children for their amazing French public speaking skills at our Concours!
Many children afterwards said they felt nervous or embarrassed. Please praise your child for their courage and success! This week’s experience was an important stepping-stone for oral presentations later in their school career.
Kids in the Know
Today we read the French version of the book Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!
It is a fun story! Children are getting older, so we looked at the story from a new perspective. We made connections between the story and real life. A pigeon tries to convince the reader to let it drive the bus. We looked at the ways that the pigeon tried to convince the reader to do something dangerous and against the rules. Then we made the connection to the schoolyard or the park. If a friend or stranger asks you to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable or is dangerous, SAY NO! I invite you to read the story and refer to it to help your child make safe choices.
Mother’s Day
Today, children will bring home their canvases for Mother’s Day. Children’s art is priceless! I just love it!
Weather
As you can see in our photos, it rained quite hard yesterday! Many children were caught off-guard without coats or raincoats. Please try to send your child with a thin raincoat in his/her backpack if rain is in the forecast. Have a great week-end!
