February 21

February has been a great month so far! We have been:

  • writing our own fairy tales
  • exploring and challenging gender stereotypes in fairy tales
  • continuing to add and subtract to 100
  • enjoying Show and Tell science experiments
  • using wheelchairs in the gym
  • trying to speak French more consistently in class

In social studies, we have been building on what we learned about First Nations culture during the first term. This term, Mme Suzette, our First Nations Educator, has helped children make paper cowichan sweaters and moccasins. Children have also been learning some Secwepemc language.

You should have received Interim Reports to give you a snapshot of your child’s strengths, work habits, and what he or she is working on. Please cut off and return the bottom portion of the report. If it has been lost, contact me for another copy! Report cards will be coming home before March Break. Please make sure to return empty envelopes to re-use.
