March 27

Welcome back! It’s Spring!

For Spring please make sure your child has:

  • Rain boots for wet weather
  • Outdoor Shoes *check that your child’s shoes aren’t full of holes! holes make for wet socks.
  • Indoor Shoes
  • Hat for sunny weather
  • Sunscreen that has been applied at home

A yellow April calendar has been sent home. Please let me know if you didn’t get one. Every child will have a show and tell date that connects to our big theme this Spring: WATER!

April Show & Tell

This month’s Show and Tell theme will be… WATER! in French!Where does our water come from? Why is water important?

The above are some of the questions that we will be exploring in science during the third term. Students can choose a Show and Tell topic that connects to water. Here are some ideas:

  • A favourite place by the water
  • A favourite animal that depends on water
  • A pet at home that requires water
  • An activity that you like to do in the water
  • A favourite landscape shaped by water
  • A glacier

Remember to prepare for Show and Tell by planning what to say in French! A visual aid such as an object, photo, drawing, poster or book is always an asset. Explain why water is important in the context of your topic.

Aquavan

On Friday, a van from the aquarium will come to the school, and our gym will become a learning zone! I have never experienced the aquavan, so I am as excited as the children to see what we will be exploring

ProD

Please be reminded that there will be no school on Monday, April 1st as it is a professional development day. I will be attending a French workshop with a focus on writing to help me support our young authors in their endeavours!

March 15

This week was full of fun and proud moments with both the concours and the talent show!

Your child has brought home shoes, boots, tuques, mitts, papers, water bottles and agendas. Please check if indoor shoes are still a good size, and if outdoor shoes are still in good condition. Rain boots, indoor shoes and clean water bottles can come back to school after the break. Please be reminded to also send in your child’s empty report card envelope. Children are more than welcome to keep home reading over the holiday.

Enjoy Spring Break!
