A week of Unplug and Play activities begins in Kamloops this week! There are many fun activities to take advantage of in the community.

School Challenge

Literacy in Kamloops (LinK) invites you and your students to participate in Interior Savings Unplug and Play Family Literacy Week which takes place January 23rd to January 30th, 2021.

Our goal is to encourage families to find a healthy balance between screen time and active family time. We build literacy skills when we play and learn together.

One way to motivate school-aged children to Unplug and Play is to offer them the School Challenge. They pledge to reduce or eliminate recreational screen time for five days. There is a daily checklist to record achievements. Please return this checklist to the classroom teacher by February 4th.

Here at Lloyd George Elementary your child is welcome to take part in the following spirit days:

Monday – Reading Rocks so wear funky socks. Students wear some funky socks, or just wear 2 different socks.

Tuesday- A poem in my pocket. Write or bring your favourite POEM to share with people.

Wednesday- Read my t-shirt. Wear a t-shirt with words or a positive message on it for others to read.

Friday- Dress as your favourite book character.
